Banana Nut Bread

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup plus 1 tablespoon sourcream
1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup(1 stick) butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar (little less than 1 cup if u are like me and prefer a little less sweeter bread so that u can eat an extra slice :))
2 eggs
1 cup mashed ripe bananas(about 3)
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

1 teaspoon vanilla courtesy:wiki
little salt about 1 full teaspoon

Method:

Preheat oven to 350 F
Grease 9 X 5 inch loaf pan (use some from stick)
combine sour cream and baking soda in small bowl
using electric mixer , blend cream, butter and sugar in a large bowl
Beat in eggs, bananas and sour cream mixture
sift in the flour and baking powder
stir in the nuts
spoon mixture into prepared pan
Bake until toothpick inserted int center comes out clean and loaf is golden brown about 1 hour (+ 10 mins approx)

Cool 10 minutes in pan
Turn loaf out onto rack and cool completely

First time visitor! Loved the way you have arranged the layout - no clutter at all - I still need to get my technical knowledge sorted out! Liked the bread too - anything with bananas is a hit with me :)
