Hi Radha, Thanks ! You didnt leave an email, so I donno how to contact you.. But, initially when we prepared the patch, we put in some horse manure.. (all organic :)) Enjoy !

If the two photographs shown on this plant really belong to dosakaya, I think a big confusion is solved. Most websites think it is a cucumber (Cucumis sativus), some as Cucumis melo (melon). The leaves clearly belong to C. melo and it would be safe to call dosakaya as Cucumis melo subsp. agrestris var. dudaim (incl. chito), also including apple melon, lemon melon.
